What is your legal experience, and how would it aid you to serve as a judge?

“ I have been practicing law since 2001 and I have experience practing in many areas of the law. Most notable though is that I have over 7 years experience as an Assistant and Deputy District Attorney where I prosecuted thousands of cases including homicides, drug crimes and other violent crimes. I also have over 5 years experience as a criminal defense attorney representing the interests of individuals charged with a criminal offense. Due to the fact that over 90% of the cases a judge hears in La Crosse County are criminal in nature, my criminal law experience will be benefit everyone that comes before me. I was also a Army Lawyer in the Army Reserves JAG Corps, where I represented the interests of our fighting men and women. ”

What do you believe is the most important quality in a judge?
“ The most important qualities a judge must posess are fairness and impartiality. Any person that appears in court must be assured that the judge will listen to each side and the facts presented without predjudice or bias, no matter what. ”

Why should voters choose you over your opponent?

“ I have experience in many areas of the law, but have extensive practical experience in criminal law as both a prosecutor and a defense attroney. Because over 90% of the cases in La Crosse County are criminal in nature, it is essential that the next judge understands all aspects of criminal cases. I am the only candidate with this type of experience. I am also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army and was a Army JAG Corps Officer. ”
