This measure sought to continue a sales tax set at a rate of .25 percent for a period of eight years in order to help pay for capital improvement projects and economic development throughout the county.[2]

The question on the ballot:
Shall the County of Buchanan retain a Countywide sales tax at the rate of 1/4 cent for the purpose of capital improvements, restoration, and economic development? This will expire with an eight year sunset clause in the year 2020.[3] |
