Changes made to West Virginia court system
May 19, 2010
Wheeling, West Virginia: The West Virginia Supreme Court plans to implement some changes at the end of 2010. The Court revealed its new "Revised Rules of Appellate Procedure" on May 18th. Under the new rules, judges would no longer be able to refuse to hear cases and attorneys appealing a case would have to create a document to highlight the errors in the lower court's decision. Roy Perry II, the Supreme Court clerk, hopes that these changes will make the appeals process more "streamlined, more logical and more user-friendly."[1]
