David Lanphear is a judge of the Warren County Family Court of the 8th Judicial Circuit, which presides over Warren County in Kentucky. He was elected in 2014 for an eight-year term commencing on January 5, 2015, and expiring on January 1, 2023. [1]

Lanphear ran for election to the 8th Judicial Circuit.
Primary: He was successful in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 28.5 percent of the vote. He competed against Jennifer L. Brinkley, Rebecca Gibson, W. Ralph Beck, John H. McCracken, and Rebecca Adams Simpson.
General: He defeated Rebecca Adams Simpson in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 52.4 percent of the vote. [2][3] 

Education

Lanphear received his undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University and his J.D. degree from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.[4]

Career

Prior to his judicial election in 2014, Lanphear practiced law with his firm of Lanphear & Walton P.L.L.C. in Bowling Green, Kentucky.[5] He had practiced law in Warren County for more than thirty-five years and had specialized in family law for twenty-three of those years.[6]
