David S. Westfall is a judge for the Seventh Judicial District Court in Colorado. He was appointed to the court on September 5, 2014, by Lieutenant Governor Joe Garcia on behalf of Governor John Hickenlooper.[1] Westfall assumed office on January 13, 2015.[2] He will serve an initial term of two years and then must run in the next retention election.[3]

Westfall was retained to the Ouray County Court, Colorado with 82.4 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [4]

2010

Westfall was retained to the Ouray County Court in 2010 with 77.43 percent of the vote.[5]

Education

Westfall earned his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1978.[1]

Career

From 2000 until he assumed the bench on the Seventh Judicial District Court in January 2015, Westfall served as a judge for the Ouray County Court.[6][7] He also previously was an owner and attorney for both Attorneys Title Agency, Inc. and for KURA FM Radio, worked as an attorney at the Westfall Law Office, and was the owner of Westfall Construction Company.[1]
