Biography
Nittler has been a social worker since 1991 and is currently employed by Holt International Children’s Services. She is also PTO president at all three of her children's schools. She serves on the Beltline Stakeholders' Advisory Committee, the River Road Community Organization and as chair of Lane County Stand for Children from 2008 until 2012.[1]

Opposition
Four seats of the seven seats on the Eugene School District Board of Directors were up for election on May 19, 2015. Position 1 incumbent Alicia Hays, Position 4 incumbent Craig Smith, Position 5 incumbent Jim Torrey and Position 7 incumbent Mary Walston were up for election.
Smith was the only incumbent who did not file to seek re-election: Eileen Nittler defeated Scott Landgreen in the race for the open seat. Torrey defeated challengers Kevin Cronin and David Nickles, while Walston triumphed over Colin Farnsworth in her re-election bid. Hays won re-election over write-in candidate Lisa Christon.

Funding
Nittler began the race with an existing account balance of $520.00 from her previous campaign. She reported $10,578.71 in contributions and $10,869.67 in expenditures to Oregon Secretary of State, which left her campaign with $223.14 in cash on hand in this election. These totals include in-kind contributions and expenditures. However, Nittler also had $464.95 in outstanding personal expenditures, leaving her campaign with effectively $241.81 in debt.[2]
