Eric Strawn

Eric Strawn is a judge of the South Dakota Fourth Judicial Circuit. He was appointed by Gov. Dennis Daugaard on April 27, 2017, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Jerome A. Eckrich (R).[1]
At the time of his appointment in 2017, Strawn was a magistrate judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit. He was appointed to that position by the South Dakota Supreme Court in November 2014.[2]
Biography
Strawn received his bachelor's degree from Black Hills State University and his J.D. from the University of South Dakota School of Law. Prior to his appointment as a full-time magistrate judge, Strawn maintained a private practice and worked as a part-time magistrate judge. He has also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.[2]
