Florida courts adopt foreclosure rules across state
February 11, 2010
Florida: The Florida Supreme Court announced, on Thursday, February 11, its approval of new rules that will apply to all home foreclosure cases in the state of Florida. The rules declare that lenders will be responsible for paying for investigating and verifying ownership and trying mediation before they are allowed to foreclose home mortgages. The rules came into being after Chief Justice Peggy Quince told local courts to use uniform foreclosure practices on account of the state's high foreclosure rate.[1]
