Florida: According to a recent study by the National Center for the State Courts, Florida justice and judge salaries hover around the national average. As of January of this year, justices of the Florida Supreme Court make $157,976 per year, which ranks as 19th in the nation. (Adjusted for cost of living, that ranking climbs a few spots, to 16th.) Meanwhile, judges of the Florida District Courts of Appeal make $150,077, ranking 13th in the county. (Adjusted for cost of living, it drops a spot, to 14th.)[1]

The study found that across the nation salaries for those on the appellate courts increased less than 1 percent during 2010. As of January 1, 2011, the median salary for an associate justice on a state Supreme Court is $146,917 and it is $140,732 for an intermediate appellate judge.[1]
