Four candidates recommended for Maryland Court of Appeals

Maryland: The Maryland Appellate Judicial Nominating Commission has selected four candidates to fill a highly-coveted seat on the state's high court, the Court of Appeals. The seat was vacated by the recent retirement of Judge Joseph Murphy. The candidate's names will be sent to Gov. Martin O'Malley, who will make the final appointment. The finalists are:
- Judge Kathleen Gallogly Cox - Third Circuit Court (Baltimore County)
- Chief Magistrate Judge Paul Grimm - U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland
- Robert Neal McDonald - chief counsel at the Maryland Attorney General's Office
- Judge Alexander Wright - Maryland Court of Special Appeals
