Gabriel chosen as GOP candidate for Texas Court of Appeals
May 26, 2010
Texas: Judge Lee Gabriel of the Texas 367th District Court, has been nominated by the Republican Party to run for an open position on the Texas Second District Court of Appeals. She was chosen by 12 Republican chairmen from the 12 counties represented by the Second District Court of Appeals. If elected, Gabriel will replace Judge Terrie Livingston on Place 7 of the court. Livingston was promoted to Chief Justice after the retirement of the former Chief Justice Robert Cayce earlier this year. There is currently no Democratic challenger and the election will be held in November. The Governor may appoint Gabriel as an interim (temporary) justice in the meantime.[1]
