Governor Kitzhaber appoints three new circuit court judges

SALEM, Oregon: In the past two weeks, Governor John Kitzhaber has appointed three new circuit court judges, filling vacancies in both Marion County and Polk County.[1][2]


On January 30, 2012, Governor Kitzhaber appointed the following judges, filling vacancies on the City of Salem Municipal Court left by the retirements of John B. Wilson and Joseph Guimond.[1]

Judge Partridge served on the City of Salem Municipal Court from 1998 until 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Juris doctorate from Willamette University.[1]
Judge Leith worked with the Oregon Department of Justice prior to his appointment in January. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Whitman College and a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law.[1]

On February 6, 2012, Governor Kitzhaber appointed the following judge, filling the vacancy on the Polk County Circuit Court left by the retirement of Fred E. Avera.[2]

Judge Hill was an attorney in private practice before his February appointment. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from California State University and a J.D. from Willamette University College of Law.[2]
