Governor Schwarzenegger announces five judicial appointments

California: On August 11, Governor Schwarzenegger nominated and appointed five individuals to state courts in California. Two judges were nominated to the California Courts of Appeal, two attorneys were nominated to California Superior Courts and one was nominated as a presiding judge.

All three of these appointments must be confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments. If confirmed, Hill and Codrington will need to be approved by voters in the general election. Mauro would take office immediately.[4]
