Herbert gets 3rd District Court nominees
May 14, 2010
Utah: Five names have been submitted to Governor Herbert as potential judges for the Utah's Third District Court. They are: Sean Egan, Katherine Bernards-Goodman, Evelyn "Eve" Furse, Scott Reed, and Andrew Stone. The vacancy on the court was created by Stephen Roth's appointment to the Utah Court of Appeals.[1]
Now that the 3rd District Judicial Nominating Commission's selections have been announced, the public has 10 days to comment on the choices. Though the Commission could reconsider the nominees after this period, most likely they will be submitted to Governor Gary Herbert. Once Herbert makes his selection, the Senate Confirmation Committee will conduct a public hearing and interview session. The Utah State Senate will confirm the nominee.[2]
