Houston County gets a new district judge

Alabama: Governor Bob Riley appointed Benjamin Lewis to the district court in Houston County. The seat became available in April with the abrupt retirement of John Steensland.[1]

Prior to his appointment, Lewis was a state representative in Alabama. He stepped down from that post in order to join the court immediately.[2]
