Indiana: Today Justice Theodore Boehm of the Indiana Supreme Court announced his intention to step down on September 30, 2010. He joined the court in 1996, after his appointment by Governor Evan Bayh. Boehm's retirement gives the current governor, Mitch Daniels, his first chance to appoint a justice to the Supreme Court. Following procedure, the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission will select three potentials nominees to fill the vacancy. From there, Daniels will get the final choice in selecting the new justice.[1]
