Ismael Torres
Ismael Torres was a candidate for at-large representative on the Kenosha Unified School District Board of Education in Wisconsin. Torres ran for the seat in the primary election on February 16, 2016. He did not receive enough votes to advance to the general election.
Biography
Torres has worked as a truancy officer, a behavior interventionist and in security. He has experience with students from elementary to high school ages. He also worked with students at Hillcrest School, a school for middle and high school students who have behavioral difficulties. Torres was also a social worker for Community Impact Programs and is working in the business world as well as part time for Amazon.[1]

2016
Two of the seven seats on the Kenosha Unified School District school board were up for general election on April 5, 2016. Incumbent Rebecca Stevens filed for re-election, while fellow board member Kyle Flood opted not to seek a new term. Newcomers David Arrington, Lance W. Gordon, Todd Jacobs and Ismael Torres all filed in the race as did past candidate Tony Garcia. A primary election was held February 16, 2016. Stevens, Jacobs, Garcia and Gordon received the most votes, allowing them to move on to the general election where Stevens and Garcia won seats on the school board.[2]
