Joanne Gilbert was a 2013 Democratic candidate in the special election for District 32 of the California State Senate.[1]

Gilbert ran in a special election for California State Senate District 32. The seat was vacant following Gloria Negrete McLeod's (D) election to the 35th Congressional District of California on November 6, 2012. Gilbert lost against Paul Vincent Avila (D), Kenny Coble (R), Paul Leon (R), Norma Torres (D) and Larry Walker (D) in the special election on March 12, 2013.[2][3][4][5][1]
