John C. Nelson

John C. Nelson is a district associate judge of the Third District of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in 2006.[1] He was retained in 2014 for a term that expired on December 31, 2020.[2]

Nelson was retained to the 3B District Court with 76.0 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2]
Education
Nelson received his bachelor's and J.D. degrees from the University of Iowa in 1987 and 1991, respectively.[1]
Career
Nelson worked for the Sioux City Legal Department, the Woodbury County attorney's office, and as a private practice lawyer. He was appointed as a magistrate of the Third District Court in Woodbury County in 1997. He was then promoted to a district associate judge in 2006.[1]
