Jon R. Erickson was a judge for the Third Judicial Circuit in South Dakota. He has served as a judge on the court since 1988.[1] Erickson's judicial chambers are located in Huron, South Dakota, which is in Beadle County.[2] Erickson was re-elected in 2014 for a term that would have expired in 2022.[3] He retired in June 2018.[4]

Education

Erickson received both his undergraduate degree and J.D. from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota.[1]

Career

Before he became a judge, Erickson served as a deputy state's attorney for Brule County, an assistant attorney general for South Dakota, an assistant U.S. attorney, and practiced law with the firm of Chamberlain at Andera, Margadant and Erickson.[1]
