Joseph "Rusty" Johnston

Joseph "Rusty" Johnston was a judge for Circuit 13 in Alabama. He was appointed to the court by former Republican Governor Fob James in 1997.[1][2]
Though his term wasn't set to expire until 2018, Johnston took medical leave on February 5, 2015. He then retired from the bench on April 20, 2015.[3]
Education
Johnston received his undergraduate degree, in 1981, and his J.D., in 1984, from the University of Alabama.[1]
Career
Before joining the court, Johnston was an attorney in private practice. He also previously served as an election instructor for the state of Alabama from 1988 to 1990.[1]
