Judge Marker to retire
June 25, 2010
Colorado: Judge Michelle Ann Marker has decided to retire from her position on the Douglas County Court in Colorado. She initially filed to run for retention, but changed her mind. She first joined this court on April 20, 2004 and will retire on January 1, 2011. The 18th Judicial District Nominating Commission will select three nominees from which Gov. Ritter will appoint a new judge.[1] Regarding her decision, Judge Marker said, "I have been in public service for 23 years and perhaps need to explore what is out there for me in the non-government sector."[2]
