Judith LaBuda was a judge on the Twentieth Judicial District in Colorado. LaBuda was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in May 2012 to succeed James C. Klein.[1] She was later retained by voters in 2014, winning a six-year term that was set to expire on January 11, 2021. [2] La Buda was retained again in November 2020 and retired from the court on May 18, 2021.[3]

LaBuda was retained to the Twentieth Judicial District with 71.1 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [4]

The Colorado Commissions on Judicial Performance recommended that Judge LaBuda be Retained. The full report is available here.

Education

LaBuda received her undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School.[1]

Career

Before her judicial appointment in 2012, LaBuda served as senior assistant attorney general at the Colorado Attorney General's Office.[1]
