Kansas Supreme Court refuses to reopen school funding case
February 12, 2010
Kansas: On Friday, February 12, the Kansas Supreme Court denied a petition by a number of Kansas school districts urging the court to reopen a school finance case from 2005. The case, Montoy v. the State of Kansas was originally filed by school district claiming that the state was not providing enough aid. The decision by the Supreme Court means that for schools to continue to challenge the state's funding must file a new case and start at the district court level.[1]
