A Lake Central School District Bond Measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the Lake Central school district area which is in Lake County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 6,775 (55.49%)Approveda
  • NO 5,434 (44.51%)[1]

This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $160 million in order to construct and replace the high school in the district as well as build a new elementary school. An additional tax of $.20 per $100 of assessed value will be added to local property taxes if the bond is implemented. Overcrowding at the schools has been an ongoing issue and the school board sees construction of new facilities as the best means to tackle the issue. Also aging buildings needs to be fixed regardless, school officials hoped final approval of the bond by the Department of Local Government Finance.[2]
