Lancaster District Judge Kelly Ballentine dismisses her own parking tickets
July 31, 2011
Pennsylvania: Lancaster District Judge Kelly S. Ballentine was found to have dismissed several of her own parking tickets within the last year. The tickets included two no-parking tickets and an expired registration ticket dating from December 2011 and January 2011. As per state Judicial Conduct rules a judge must disqualify themselves from a proceeding they are party to. Other states have historically reacted strongly to this form of Judicial misconduct and have even gone as far as to dismiss judges. Ballentine has a history of minor traffic violations prior to gaining office and a recent court case regarding an alleged break-in at her home. Despite the court records there has been no public investigation launched into the misconduct.[1]
