Leigh Anne Stephens is the chief district court judge for the 33rd District Court, which presides over Perry County in Kentucky.[1] She was first elected in 2002 and was re-elected without opposition in 2010 and 2014.[2][3][4][5] Her four-year term expired on January 6, 2019.[6]

2010

Stephens was elected to the 33rd District Court. She defeated challenger Michael Edward Roper with 72.55% of the vote on November 2, 2010.[7][3]

Education

Stephens earned a B.A. from the University of Kentucky, going on to receive her J.D. from the University of Memphis. She was admitted to the bar in 1987.[8]

Career

Prior to her judicial election in 2002, Stephens was an attorney in private practice. She also has experience as an assistant county attorney in Perry County.[9]
