Lester Terry Moore was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 4th Congressional District of Indiana. He lost in the Democratic primary.[1]

Biography

Moore was born in Evansville, Indiana, and moved to rural Warrick County as a child.[2] He holds a bachelor's in education for social studies from Indiana State University in Terre Haute. He is certified as an Indiana Assessor-Appraiser Level II and III.[2]

Moore worked for Northern Indiana Public Service Company.[2] He was a Control Room Operator and member of USWA Local 12775 and after 35 years retired in 2006.[2] He was elected Newton County Assessor and served from 2007-2011.[2]

Moore ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Indiana's 4th District. He lost to Tara Nelson in the May 8 Democratic primary.[1]

Moore and his wife Nancy have four children and nine grandchildren all residing in Indiana.[2] They reside on the family farm near Morocco.[2]
