Locke A. Williams is the presiding judge on the Benton County Circuit Court in Oregon. The court has jurisdiction over Benton County and is located within the 21st Judicial District.[1] Williams was appointed to the bench in March 2002 by Gov. John Kitzhaber (D). He was elected to the position in May 2002, and was re-elected in 2008. He was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires on January 3, 2021.[2][3][4][5]

Education

Williams earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Texas-Arlington in 1984. He received his J.D. from Texas Tech University in 1987.[5]

Career

Williams began his legal career with a firm in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1991 he opened a private practice in Corvallis, Oregon, focused on civil and family law.[5]
