Louisiana Lake Charles East Shore Development Amendment (1968)

The Louisiana Lake Charles East Shore Development Amendment, also known as Amendment 38, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 5, 1968, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed to give the city of Lake Charles the authority to develop the east shore of Lake Charles for commercial and non-commercial purposes. It also proposed a bond issue to raise the necessary funds.[1]
