The Louisiana Lake Charles North Shore Development Amendment, also known as Amendment 40, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 5, 1968, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed modifications to the authority of the city of Lake Charles in relation to the development of the north shore of Lake Charles and the issuance of bonds related to that development.[1]
