The Louisiana Parish Severance Tax Allocation Amendment, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Louisiana on October 3, 1998, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed to raise the maximum rebate from oil and gas severance taxes that a locality could receive from the state. The maximum limit was raised from $500,000 to $750,000.[1][2]
