Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Bowman's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Politics in General: "This campaign in every step aspires to be grounded and rooted in Jesus Christ and our Christian heritage and relationship with God. In office: actions, words and efforts should be approached with the Bible in mind. The goal here is to win, with your support. Still, it is God's plan. The spirit so moved me to enter this race. And it may so move you to support me and ultimately vote for me"
  • Toward the Future: "Examples of the rapid change coming include drones, Uber, bitcoin, FanDuel, self-driving cars. How we transition and utilize these technologies is important. These are just the technological examples of rapid change. We need fresh, new leadership in this country that is ready from a younger generation to bridge our steps toward embracing these opportunities."
  • Term Limits: "I will draft and introduce common sense legislation and lead initiatives in this country to ensure term limits for our representatives. As a compromise I believe a certain percentage of the vote could be established such that if the people really, really want to retain the same great person, let's say with 75% of the vote that representative can stay in office. Otherwise, Senators should serve a maximum of 3 terms (18 years) and Congress members in the House up to 7 terms (14 years)."
  • Underemployment: "Many of the people that have jobs should and could have much better jobs in a stronger economy. The people in this category have experience, skills and education that can earn more and do more than the job they currently have."
  • Marriage and Abortion: "There is no reason for unelected, unaccountable judges to make sweeping decisions about marriage and abortion. These issues must by the 10th Amendment and by God be left for State and Local governments to decide. Marriage should be between one man and one woman. Life begins at conception and funding for abortion must not be made with public dollars. If the people of a state want to define marriage on their own terms then the people must be respected, and likewise for abortions. Marcus Bowman is fundamentally pro-life."
