Mark D. Kozisek is a judge of the Eighth District Court in Nebraska. He has served in this position since 2004. He was retained in 2014 for a term that expires in 2020.[1][2][3]

Kozisek was retained to the 8th District with 71.4 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3] 

Education

Kozisek received his B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1975 and his J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law in 1978.[1]

Career

Kozisek began his legal career in 1981 as a deputy Brown County attorney. He worked in this capacity until his judicial appointment in 2004. He also served from 1992 to 2004 as a city attorney in the cities of Ainsworth, Long Pine and Johnstown.[1]

2012 judicial performance evaluation

Every two years, the Nebraska State Bar Association compiles responses from lawyers to evaluate judges in the state. Subjects are rated in seven categories, then a determination is made for whether the judge should be retained. The seven categories considered are: legal analysis; impartiality; attentiveness; opinions; judicial temperament and demeanor; appropriate communication; and timeliness.
