Martinez confirmed to U.S. District Court in Colorado

Colorado: William J. Martinez was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to the United States District Court for the District of Colorado on December 21, 2010. He had been nominated to this federal judgeship months before by President Obama on February 24th.
Martinez began his career as a staff attorney with the Legal Assistance Foundation in Chicago, IL. While working there, he specialized in cases related to employment. He moved to Denver, CO in 1987 and worked as a private practice lawyer with the firm Pendleton and Sabian. From 1992 to 1996, he served with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission before starting his own law firm in 1997. He became a partner of the firm of McNamara, Roseman, Martínez and Kazmierski in 2001, where he has practiced ever since.[1]
