Oakes was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1974.[1] He grew up in the North End of Hartford.

Career

In the mid 1990's Oakes went into production management and after several years entered retail management.[1] Oakes became disable in 2003 when he was attacked in Hartford, Connecticut.[1]

Oakes was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Connecticut. He sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[2] The Signature requirements and deadlines for 2012 state government elections signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was June 12, 2012. The primary elections were held on August 14, 2012.
