McDonald County School District "Proposition Kids" Bond question was approved on the April 2, 2013 election ballot in McDonald County, which is in Missouri.
This measure authorized the McDonald County School District R-1 to increase its debt by $5.5 million through issuing general obligation bonds in that amount in order to fund certain construction, renovation, furnishing and equipping projects in the district, including tornado safety projects. This measure would not increase the property tax rate of the district. This measure requires a 4/7th's majority approval rate (57.1%) in order to pass.[1]

Text of the question:
| “ | Shall the Board of Education of the McDonald County R-1 School District, Missouri, without an estimated increase in current debt service property tax levy, borrow money in the amount of Five Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($5,500,000) for the purpose of providing matching funds for the site development, construction, equipping and furnishing of the FEMA Safety Buildings (tornado shelter) to combine with resources from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at the Pineville School, Southwest City School and other locations authorized by FEMA; to construct, equip and furnish a Vocational Agricultural workshop addition to be located at the high school campus; to construct, equip and furnish additional classrooms and a new gym at the Pineville Elementary and Southwest City Elementary Schools to accommodate the tornado shelters as part of those projects; to complete other remodeling and repair improvements to the existing facilities of the District; and issue bonds for the payment thereof? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.67 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.
