Michael I. Jeffery
Michael I. Jeffery was a judge of the Second District in Barrow, Alaska.[1] Jeffery was appointed on October 28, 1982 by Governor Jay Hammond and then reappointed on May 29, 2008 by Governor Sarah Palin. His final term would have expired in 2018, but Jeffery was forced to retire on December 28, 2014. Under Alaska's mandatory retirement law, judges cannot serve after the age of 70.[2][3]
Education
Jeffery graduated from Standford University with his Bachelor of Arts in 1966. He later graduated from Yale Law School with a J.D. in 1969.[4]
