Milady Tejeda

Milady Tejeda is an at-large representative on the Perth Amboy Public Schools school board in New Jersey. Tejeda was initially appointed to the position in 2010. Tejeda won a new term in the at-large general election on November 7, 2017.
Biography
Tejeda's professional experience includes working as a system analyst for Siemens Healthcare and as a medical lab technician for Rahway Hospital. She earned her computer programming certification from the Chubb Institute of Technology. Prior to that, Tejeda earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Kean University and her associate degree in medical lab technology from Middlesex County College. Tejeda's community involvement has included serving as a member of the parish council at Our Lady of Fatima Parrish and as secretary of the United Dominicans of Perth Amboy. Tejeda migrated to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic in 1974.[1]
Elections
2017
Three of the nine seats on the Perth Amboy Public Schools school board in New Jersey were up for at-large general election on November 7, 2017. Board member Milady Tejeda won the election along with newcomers Jesus Martinez and Lisett Lebron. They defeated incumbent Manuel Nunez and challengers Irving Lozada and Eddie Tejada.[2]

2014
Three seats on the Perth Amboy school board were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Former board member Anton J. Massopust and incumbents Dianne Roman and Milady Tejada ran against Jose Rodriguez, Junior Iglesia, Thomas Thor, and Manuel Nunez in the general election. While incumbent Maria Garcia's term also expired at the end of the year, she did not file to run for re-election.[4] Roman, Thor, and Iglesia ran as a slate called Restoring Educational Priorities.
