The Mineral Point School District Referendum was a school bond measure on the April 7 ballot in the Mineral Point School District which is in Iowa County. The referendum was brought to the ballot by the school board, and it sought to exceed state-set revenue limits by $1,000,000. The additional funds will be used to maintain current levels of operations. A similar, though larger, referendum was on the ballot in 2008, where it was defeated. Wording of referendum
BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the Mineral Point Unified School District, Iowa and Lafayette Counties, Wisconsin, that the revenues included in the School District budget be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $400,000 for the 2009-2010 school year and by $600,000 for the 2010-2011 school year for non-recurring purposes consisting of paying the costs of maintaining the educational programs, facilities and equipment of the District.[1]
