North Santiam School District Bond Measure (November 2012)

A North Santiam School District Bond measure was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Linn and Marion counties, which is in Oregon, where it was approved.
This measure authorized the North Santiam School District to issue up to $22,850,000 in bonds for the purpose of upgrading school buildings. The repairs will include:
- Replacing or repairing roofs, plumbing and electrical systems
- Improving energy efficiency through installation of new windows, lighting, heating, and ventilation systems
- Enhancing student safety by upgrading building security
- Complying with building code and seismic requirements
- Adding classrooms at elementary/middle schools
- Remodeling the Stayton High School auditorium
- Constructing a multipurpose room/cafeteria at Stayton Elementary School
These bonds will mature in 21 years and will be paid through property taxes with an estimated rate of $0.58 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.[1][2]

| “ | Shall the North Santiam School District issue $22,850,000 of general obligation bonds to upgrade school facilities?
If the bonds are approved, they will be payable from taxes on property or property ownership that are not subject to the limits of section 11 and 11b, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution.[1][3] |
