The Northland Pines School District Referendum was a school bond measure on the April 7 ballot in the Northland Pines School District which is in Vilas County. The referendum was brought to the ballot by the school board, and it sought to exceed state-set revenue limits by $2,900,000 per year for three years, totaling $8,700,000 by 2012. The additional funds will be used to maintain current levels of operations.
Status
Passed, with 1,963 "yes" votes and 1,767 "no" votes.[1]
Tax impact
The estimated tax increase on a $200,000 property if this measure passes is $70 per year.[2]
Wording of referendum
Be it resolved by the School Board of the Northland Pines School District, Vilas and Oneida Counties, Wisconsin that the revenues included in the School District budget for the 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $2,900,000 a year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of operating expenses.[1]
