Oregon filing deadline less than a week away

SALEM, Oregon: The Oregon filing deadline is just around the corner on Tuesday, March 6. A grand total of 99 seats are up for election in the northwestern state. This includes congressional, state executive and legislative positions.

Currently, Oregon has 2 statewide ballot measures scheduled to appear on ballots in 2012. The final deadline for submitting petition signatures for measures is July 6. Both certified measures are legislatively referred constitutional amendments. One measure calls for changing the terminology of the Oregon Constitution for the three state government branches. The second question proposes revisions about catastrophic disasters and requires approval by a 2/3rd majority.
