Potential appellate judge for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals nominated by Obama

Washington D.C.: On Thursday, March 31, 2011, President Obama nominated Corinne Ann Beckwith to be an appellate judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Beckwith currently serves as an attorney Appellate Division of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, a job she has held since 1999. Beckwith has a B.A. from Kalamazoo College and an M.S., from the University of Illinois. She received her law degree from University of Michigan Law School. On the appointment Obama said, "Corinne Ann Beckwith has proved herself to be not only a first-rate legal mind but a faithful public servant. It is with full confidence in her ability, integrity, and independence that I nominate her to the bench of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals."[1]
