Probate Judge Cook announces retirement

Vermont: Sally Cook, a judge for the Bennington County Probate Court, announced that she will leave office at the end of her term. Cook has been a judge for 22 years. Remarking on her service, she said, "There have been many changes over the years, some good, some questionable, but hopefully probate courts will begin to be recognized as equal members of the Vermont Judiciary." Her term expires on January 31, 2011. Attorney D. Justine Scanlon is running as a Democrat to fill the position.[1][2]
