Memphis, Tennessee: Judge Ann Pugh, who officially retired from her position on the Shelby County General Sessions Court on May 31, 2010, is back on an interim basis. A new judge will be elected on August 5th. In the meantime, Shelby County Commissioners needed to appoint a temporary judge to serve until August 31st. Ann Pugh and Steven D. Townsdin were both considered for the position. Pugh explained that she had intended to serve through August, but had retired in May so voters could elect a new judge.[1]
