Richard M. Platkin
Richard M. Platkin is a judge for the New York Court of Claims in Albany County, New York. He was appointed to this position in 2006 and his current term ends in 2023.[1] He also serves as an acting justice of the Albany County Supreme Court and the Greene County Supreme Court in the 3rd Judicial District.[2][3]
Education
Platkin received his bachelor's degree from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1985 and his J.D. degree from the Albany Law School in 1993.[1]
Career
Platkin began his career in 1993 as an associate of the law firm of Pennie & Edmonds. The following year, he became a law clerk to U.S. Appellate Court Judge Roger Miner. He then worked for Governor Pataki as assistant counsel (1995-2000), deputy counsel (2000-2002) and counsel (2003-2006). He was elected to the court of claims in 2006.[1]
