Robert Herndon
Robert D. Herndon is the Position 7 judge on the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon. The court has jurisdiction over Clackamas County and is located within the 5th Judicial District. He was elected to a two-year term as presiding judge in 2011.[1]
Herndon joined the Clackamas County Circuit Court in 1997. He won re-election without opposition in the primary election on May 17, 2016.[2]

Selection method

Judges of the Oregon Supreme Court, Oregon Court of Appeals and Oregon Circuit Courts are all selected in an identical manner. They are chosen in nonpartisan elections to serve six-year terms, after which they must run for re-election if they wish to continue serving.[3]
The chief judges of the circuit courts are appointed by the chief justice of the state supreme court to serve a two-year term.[3]
Qualifications
To serve on the circuit court, a judge must be:[3]
- a U.S. citizen;
- a state resident for at least three years;
- a resident of his or her circuit for at least one year;
- a state bar member; and
- under the age of 75.

Herndon was re-elected to the Clackamas County Circuit Court in 2010 after running unopposed. He won with 98.90 percent of the vote.[4]
Education
Herndon received his B.S. in 1966 and J.D. in 1968, both degrees from the University of Oregon.[5][6][7]
