Hixon submitted the following statement to Ballotpedia:

I recently became interested in this public office- when I read that our incumbent, was requiring surgery and might not run. Performing my due diligence and research, I grew to respect him as a person. My concern was an obvious lack of care exhibited for the low and middle class. My education has taught me to identify patterns. If the trend continued, I am confident and it is inevitable there would no longer be a middle class. My primary goals as the representative, for the citizens of rural Arizona are as follows;

  • Increase funding for all forms of education; from the federal level
  • Increase the level of income for the citizens. Any and all concessions from the federal level
  • Return and maintain all personal liberties of individual citizens. Keep the federal government out.
  • Moderate, fair representation for ALL of the citizens. NO party line representation.
