Robert Spergel
Robert Spergel was a judge for the Nassau County Court in New York. He joined the court in 2007. After battling a brain tumor for four years, he passed away on February 7, 2015. He had continued working at the court until the end of 2014.[1]
Education
Spergel received his J.D. from City University of New York School of Law in 1996.[2]
Career
Spergel was an attorney in private practice from 1996 to 2007. Before receiving his law degree, Spergel served with the New York Police Department from 1981 to 1993.[3]
Elections
2012
Spergel was one of six candidates to compete for three seats on the court. He was elected to the court, winning 16.93% of the vote.[4][5]

Spergel ran unsuccessfully for election to the New York Supreme Court 10th Judicial District on November 8. There were 10 positions on the ballot for that court.[6][3] He received 8.42% of vote.[7]
